Save As Adobe Pdf

To save (download) the PDF, click the icon, located near the bottom of the browser window. If you do not see the save icon, move your mouse towards the bottom of the browser window, and a black bar should appear, where the save icon is located. To save the current slide only as a PDF, under Range, select Current slide. To save specific slides as PDF, in Slides(s), enter the slide number range in From and To boxes. If you don't want to save slides, but instead only save comments, handouts, or Outline view, under Publish what, select an appropriate option.

When you use InDesign or Illustrator on Mac OS 10.6 and later, the Adobe PDF printer is not listed under the available printers. Or, it is if available, it doesn't create a PDF as expected. When you choose Save As Adobe PDF from the Print dialog box, an error such as the following appears:

'The Save as PDF option in the Printer dialog is not supported.'

Solution: Print as a PostScript file, and then convert the file to a PDF

Note: If you want to use the Acrobat PPD with this method, first follow the instructions in Install Adobe Acrobat PPD.

When prompted for a location to save your PostScript file, save it to a location you can easily locate later.
Open the PostScript file with Adobe Acrobat Distiller, or Apple's Preview application, to convert it to a PDF.

Follow these steps if you want to have the Acrobat 9 PPD appear in the PPD pop-up menu. The Acrobat 9 PPD supports custom page sizes, which are often necessary when using this workflow with the Print Booklet feature in InDesign.

InDesign CS5 is used as an example here. For other versions, adjust the version number in the folder paths.

Navigate to /Applications/Adobe Indesign CS5/Presets/.
Within the presets folder, create a folder named PPDs External backup drive reviews. (the folder name is case-sensitive).
Control-click the following link and choose Save Link As to download the Acrobat 9 PPD:

Place a copy of the downloaded PPD into the folder you created in step 3.

Most applications can take advantage of the new Create Adobe PDF from the PDF menu in the Mac OS print dialog box. However, InDesign and Illustrator sometimes don't support this feature, depending on the version you are using. In this case, print to a PostScript file, and use Distiller or Apple Preview to convert the file to PDF.

You can select Adobe PDF in almost any Windows or macOS application while printing. Print to PDF creates an electronic copy of your file that you can save to disk. Printing a file to PDF using the Adobe PDF printer flattens the file.

Choose Adobe PDF as the printer in the Print dialog box.

To customize the Adobe PDF printer setting, click the Properties (or Preferences) button. (In some applications, you may need to click Setup in the Print dialog box to open the list of printers, and then click Properties or Preferences.)

Click Print. Type a name for your file, and click Save.

The Adobe PDF printer is not available on Mac. However, you can use the Save As Adobe PDF option to print a file to PDF on Mac.

Note:

In macOS Mojave (v10.14), when you try to print a document to PDF using the System Print Dialog > Save As Adobe PDF, the following error message is displayed: 'This workflow contains the action Save As Adobe PDF, which is provided by a third party. Third party actions must be explicitly enabled.'
